The Backbox Package will include the following
- 2 Backbox Sides
- 1 DMD/Speaker Panel
- 1 Top
- 1 Bottom
- 2 Rear Doors
There are a few starter holes in the backbox pieces for screws. Please be sure to predrill the inside pieces prior to securing your screws. This will help with preventing the wood from splitting. If some glue comes out of edges use a damp cloth to remove it.
Step 1
Using a good quality wood glue and either screws and or a Nail Gun. Attach 1 backbox side to the DMD/Speaker panel.
Step 2
Using a good quality wood glue and either screws and or a Nail Gun. Attach 2nd backbox side to the DMD/Speaker panel.
Step 3
Glue Bottom Channel and slide in bottom. Then Add your screws or Nails. Be sure the cable management hole is positioned towards the rear of the Backbox. These Channels have been cut to be very tight fitting. If the wood has swollen a bit at the edges due to heat and humidity be sure to use your sander and sand down a bit of the edges. Again this joint is very tight. Take your time and be careful.
Step 4
Glue Top Channel then slide in top. Then add your screws and nails. Like the piece above If the wood has swollen a bit at the edges due to heat and humidity be sure to use your sander and sand down a bit of the edges. Again this joint is very tight. Take your time and be careful.
Step 5
Most people will agree at this point to strap the backbox tightly and let the glue time to dry per the glues instructions. This will vary depending on what brand glue you use.
Step 6
The final step is to attach the backbox rear doors using the hinge system of your own choice. A decent set of piano hinges sold at Lowes or Menards etc work well for this. This would probably be best done after you have installed your monitors and are at the last stages of your build.
Your Backbox is ready to go.
